Agnes Lorrine Smith Joyce passed on to her heavenly existence on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the age of 88 years and 15 days.
She was born in September 7, 1923 and was a resident of the Smith Ridge section of Jewell Ridge, Virginia her entire life and was the daughter of the late William McKinley Smith and Bridget Lockheart Smith. She was an active member of the Friendly Chapel Church, the Friendly Chapel Sewing Circle, and a member of the Richlands #104 Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Kellar Joyce; three grandsons, Kevin Ray Joyce, Robert Eugene Johnson, and Eric Bryant Joyce; one great grandson, Eric Kellar Johnson; three sons in law, Ellis Stevenson, Danny Lowe, and Ashby Johnson; nine brothers, John, Frank, Robert, Kessler, Jack, Junior, Hershel, Creed, and Hassel Smith; and two sisters, Mae Perkins and Mattie Young.

James Joyce and wife, Linda of Waverly, Virginia
Ronald Joyce and wife, Dwana of Jewell Ridge, Virginia
Special Niece, Reda White; Fourteen Grandchildren; and Twenty Six Great Grandchildren also survive along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Agnes Lorrie Joyce will be conducted Monday, September 26, 2011 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Eddie Hess and Rev. Bruce Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Grandsons: James Edward Joyce, Jason Joyce, Cliff Johnson, Bruce Terry, Brian Terry, and Phillip Lowe. Friends may call after 6:00pm Saturday and Sunday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. Members of Richlands Order of the Eastern Star #104 will conduct services Saturday evening at 7:00pm. Flowers are welcome or donations can be made in her memory to the Friendly Chapel Church Sewing Circle, 1656 Smith Ridge Road, Jewell Ridge, Virginia 24622.
