On June 23, 1945, in Boone County, Ky., she married David J. Asher. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2009.
Oneva is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Judith (Daryl) Collins and Sandra Asher; one son and daughter-in-law, David (Bonnie) Asher; one half-sister, Sally Hancock; one brother, Lowell Hampton; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, three half-sisters, and one half-brother.
Oneva graduated from Bradford High School, Bradford, in 1945. She was a member of Church of the Brethren, Piqua. Oneva was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Covington. She worked for Guaranteed TV Sales and Service for 28 years before retiring in 1978.
A celebration of Oneva's life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, with Pastor Larry Lutz officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
It was her wish that her body be donated to Wright State University School of Medicine in hopes of assisting with research to help others live longer, healthier lives. Miami Memorial Park, Covington, will be her final resting place after the celebration of her life is held.
