MORAVIA, Iowa (Special) Services for A. "Glen" Overturf, 95, of Centerville, Iowa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia with the Rev. Larry Pauley and the Rev. Richard Grimes officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia under the direction of Gilbert-Nordstrom Funeral Homes.
He died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1904, in Wapello County, Iowa.
He married Bertha Howk on Jan. 23, 1927, in Wapello County.
He was a member of the Iconium Methodist Church of 55 years and a member of various county boards. He was a farmer in Wapello, Lucas and Appanoose counties.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Overturf and Rex Overturf; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Ronald Overturf of Moravia; five daughters, Velma Tisue of Sumner, Iowa, Wilma Scieszinski of Des Moines, Verna Wakefield of Mystic, Iowa, Kay White of Lincoln, Neb., and Judy Ballanger of Moravia; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. today at Gilbert-Nordstrom Funeral Home in Moravia. Family visitation will follow between 4 p.m. and 7 pm.
The family suggests memorials to the Iconium Methodist Church.
