The Wells County native retired from General Electric Co. in 1973 after 42 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, GE Quarter Century Club and formerly served in GE's volunteer fire department.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Diane Ruff of New Haven; a son, Thomas of Fort Wayne; a sister, Leatha Hutchison of Ossian; brothers, Arthur and Clarence, both of Fort Wayne; and five grandchildren.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Elzey & Haggard Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, where calling is 4 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
