Wayne Clark, 72, of Canton, Mo., died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Ill. Born July 2, 1930, at Canton, a son of Earl and Bessie Baker Clark. He married Thelma Solter, April 21, 1956, in LaGrange. She survives. Mr. Clark was a life-long member of Centenary United Methodist Church, rural Canton. He lived and farmed northwest of Canton, his entire life, leaving only to serve in the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Clark was the fourth generation of a family farming tradition that began on the farm, which was homesteaded in 1835. He raised cattle, hogs, and row crops. Mr. Clark took great pride and joy in his grandchildren, his gardens and pets.
Survivors include his wife; their children and grandchildren, Kirby Clark and his daughter, Maria; Stephen Clark and wife, Theresa, and their children Anthony, Katie, and Tyler; Douglas Clark and wife, Cindy, and their children Kimberly and Douglas, Jr. all of Canton; Mar Clark Ladd and husband, Bob, and their children, Christine, Carey, and Robert Windsor, N.J.; and Barbara Rees and husband, Jim, Palmyra, and his children, Trish, Ryan, and Jamie. Other survivors include his siblings, Mary Walden, Las Vegas, Nev., Frances Emme and husband, Ed, Hillsboro, John J. (Joe) Clark and wife, Mary Ellen, and Dorothy Gorrell and husband, Travis, all of Canton, James Clark and Wife, Patty, Lakeland, Fla., and Marilyn Clark, Louisville, Ky.
