Ruben enlisted in the Marines 12 May 1966, at the Los Angeles AFEES, at the age 17 years and 5 months old.
Ruben arrived in Vietnam and was assigned to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Ruben died as a result of several gunshot wounds to his back, left side of
the head and right leg during an engagement against hostile forces on Hill 70 and 6 kilometers north northwest of Cam Lo. Ruben and 14 Marines died at the "Battle of Getlin's Corner", Hill 70.
Ruben was single and served his country for 10 months and 18 days and KIA #10,807.

Survived by his mother, Ophelia Armenta and a sister, Ruby Armenta of 6301 Bonnie Vela Avenue, Pico Rivera, California and his father, Maximo Armenta of address unknown.
