Jean Paul Ludwig immigrated to the US aboard the ship Leviathan bound from Cherborug, France and arrived in New York City on 12 Aug 1924. He applied for naturalization in 1924 in the Western District of Pennsylvania. In his 23 Jun 1927 Petition for Naturalization filed in Pennsylvania, he gave his residence as the Schenley Apts, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he was employed as a butler-valet. He applied for a Social Security card in 1951 in CT and the Social Security Death Index reports that he was born 17 Feb 1890 and died __ Jun 1981 and that his last residence and address of his benefits was Honolulu, Hawaii. The California Death Index reports that he was born 17 Feb 1890 in "other country" and that he died in San Luis Obispo, California; his mother's maiden name was shown as Salome. Mr. Ludwig's name appears in the 1940 US Census as a resident of Pittsburgh, PA (he lived there in 1935 as well); he was shown as being married (wife's name unknown) and was a lodger and servant at the Hotel Schenley in Pittsburgh, PA.
