He was born in South Boston on Aug. 25, 1955, a son of Myrtle Smith Link and the late Willard Link and was married to Sherry Pearson Link.
He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and attended Black Walnut Baptist Church. He shared his testimony through singing with The Harvesters Quartet and The Harmony Believers.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a son, Edward L. "Eddie" Link of South Boston; a sister, Claudia L. Fitts and husband Willie of South Boston and niece, Wendy Fitts Wilson.
A funeral was held Wednesday at Black Walnut Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Wooten, Rev. Norman Talley and Rev. Joe Trickey officiating. Burial followed in Harmony UMC Cemetery.
