Mary M. Madden, 80, of Newville, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Sarah Todd Nursing Home, Carlisle.
Born May 11, 1924, in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late David R. and Keturah Whitsel Long.
Mrs. Madden was a homemaker and self-employed businesswoman.
She was a member of South Fairview Church of God, RD Newville.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Melvin S. Madden; four daughters, Sandra Gutshall of RD Three Springs, Bonnie Fraker of Newville, Brenda Fernsler of Columbia and Donna Park of Carlisle; three sisters, Margaret Corbin of Mt. Union, Gladys Varner of RD Mapleton and Emma Waite of Orbisonia; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Eugene; two brothers, Robert and Willis Long; two sisters, Goldie Lamberson and Blanche Gartland; and a grandson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, off of Route 994 and Cherry Street, Orbisonia, with Pastor Harry Madison officiating. Burial will be at Monroe Valley Cemetery, RD Three Springs.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.
