Edward C. Baechler, 81, of 810 W. High-st, landscape gardener, died at 10:10 p.m. Monday in St. Rita's hospital after an illness of three months.

A native of Switzerland, he had lived in Lima most of his life. He was a member of Calvary Evangelical and Reformed church.

Surviving are his widow, Mary A.; three brothers, G. Fredd, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Albert L., 2207 Allentown-rd, and Christian R. Baechler, Washington, D.C.; a sister, Mrs. Emma Moore, Columbus.

The body will remain in the Davis-Miller and Son funeral home for services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Cathedral chapel. The Rev. H. C. Kellermeyer will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
