She came with her parents to Oklahoma in 1918. Aunt Pauline attended grade school at Little Hope, High School at Cordell, Oklahoma. One year Oklahoma Christian College at Cordell, Oklahoma. One year Abilene Christian College. 1940 received her B.S. Degree from Southwestern State College at Weatherford, Oklahoma. She started teaching in 1926-1929 Mt.Zion, two room school, 1930-1934 Center, two room school, 1934-1938 Lake Valley, Consolidated school, 1938-1940 Rocky, 1940-1970 Clinton for a total of 43 years of teaching.
May 29, 1938 she married George Finley, he proceded her in death August 10, 1938. She married Jess Welch May 24,1952 he proceded her in death December 3, 1953. She was a member of the Church Of Christ, Delta Kappa Gamma & Retired Teachers
Preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sister Esther Josephine Cooper Best, brother Oliver Wendell Cooper, nephew Forrest Edward Best & stepson Jack Welch. Survived by two nieces Pauletta & Beverly, one nephew Glenn, four great nieces, Sabrina, Tami, Keli, Charleen, two great nephews, Derek & Sean. All that knew Aunt Pauline loved her dearly, she was a very special lady, always kind & considerate of others
