Lola "Bernice" Worley, 93, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local facility on Saturday, May 19, 2001.
She was born July 30. 1907 in Kansas City, Missouri, the second of five children to Henry Clay and Mary Elida (Lindsay) Stevens. She grew up in Kansas City.
She married Cecil Chasteen in Kansas City and they moved West before WWII. Cecil died while serving in the Navy during the War.
She later married Francis "Brownie" Manus Worley and he preceded her in death in 1973.
Bernice was a homemaker, who enjoyed homemaking, cooking, sewing and reading.
She is survived by her grandson, Steven G. Chasteen of Independence, Missouri, 3 great grandchildren and her sister, Rose Krawczyk of Blue Springs, Missouri.
Her son, Alvin Wade Chasteen died in an auto accident in the early 1970's.
Graveside services held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
