Grafton Dulany Addison died at his residence on March 31, 1994. Mr. Addison, age 95, was a lifelong resident of Richmond. He attended the McGuire School and was one of the oldest alumni of VA Military Institute. Mr Addison was a member for over 80 years of the Episcopal Church of the Shepherd where he served as a member of the Vestry. His wife of 67 years, Anne Withers Addison died in 1991. Mr. Addison is survived by five children, Anne Page Addison Webb of Norfolk, Grace Addison Fitton of Hamilton, OH, Katherine Addison Williams of Rockville, MD, Edward Churchill Addison and David Dunham Addison both of Richmond. He was predeceased by two sons, Grafton Dulany Addison, Jr, and Alfred Withers Addison. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cumshaw Avenue. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday April 2 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Forest Hill Avenue at 43rd Street, Richmond. Interment will follow in in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Church of the Good Shepherd or the VMI Foundation, Lexington, VA.
