Nathan Canon Dies
Lee, Oct. 4--Nathan Canon, 74, died this morning at his home at Tyringham. He was born in Tyringham, the son of John Canon, and was the youngest and last of five brothers. He was a brother of the late George Canon of Goose Pond mountain. He was married to Flora Northrup of Tyringham. Although never a resident here, Mr. Canon was virtually a Lee man as he did all his business here and was as well known in Lee as in Tyringham. He owned one of the largest farms in this section. He was at one time a member of the Legislature and president of the Housatonic Agricultural society. He leaves a widow, two children, Clifford J. Canon of Tyringham and Mrs. C. J. LePrevost of Lee and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2.30 Friday afternoon at Tyringham, Rev. Henry Wilds Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Tyringham cemetery.
