*Ada Grosse, 61, of 1205 E. Front St., who with her husband George, owned Grosse's Pizzeria, died at 2:20 p.m. Monday in Mercy Hospital Unit, where she had been since Christmas day. She had been ill for a year. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today in the Rupp Funeral Home, where a scriptural service will be at 8 tonight. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home and at 2 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Nardone, associate pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Born Feb. 16, 1919, in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of Frank and Josephine D'Arpini D'Alessandri. She married George Grosse Aug. 30, 1936, in Detroit. After their marriage, the couple owned and managed three restaurants in Monroe for almost 40 years, including Grosse's Pizzeria, reportedly the first pizzeria in Monroe. She was a life member of St. Joseph Church and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Josephine D'Alessandri of Monroe, a son, David A., of Monroe, two brothers, John D'Alessandri and Valenzo D'Alessandri both of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Lelia) Smith of Monroe and Mrs. William (Dolores) Mowrey of San Jose, Calif., and two granddaughters. Ada was the niece of Saturno, Josephine's brother, and the first cousin of Robert, Saturno's son.

The D'Arpini's and the D'Alessandri's were the first of the family line to come to Monroe, Michigan, from New York, after arriving in this country from Rome, Italy.
