MOORESBURG-Oscar Dalton, age 94, Mooresburg died Friday, June 24, 2005 at Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was a member of the Mooresburg United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School superintendent and teacher. He was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Hawkins County School System and Kingsport City School System. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Cox Dalton; parents, John Nelson and Hattie McCoy Dalton and brothers, Mack, Rue and John Dalton.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James Nelson and Marjorie Dalton, Kingsport; grandson, James Dalton, Knoxville; granddaughter, Catherine Morris, Orlando, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Colboch-Price Funeral home chapel with Rev. Denver Davidson officiating. The Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee Army National Guard conducted military honors in Highland Cemetery.

Colboch-Price Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
