Persilla Caroline Dunsworth, born in Schuyler County, Illinois Mar. 11th 1854 died Aug. 31st 1893, age 39 years 5 months and 20 days. She lived in Schuyler Co. the place of her birth until 24 years of age when she married Buckner Dunsworth, Dec. 25th '79 and moved to McDonough Co. Illinois, where they lived about two years when they come to Reno Co., Kansas where they have since lived and secured themselves a good home for which to live and enjoy the rest of life with the family the Lord had given them and of which she was so proud.

She confessed saving faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ, and united with the Presbyterian Church at Doddsvill Illinois where she remained a member until coming west. After locating here she with her husband joined the Baptist Church at Harmony where she was a member until the death angel called her home.

She certainly did live a Christian life in every sense, always considering the feeling of others rather then-self, always ready to give comfort and consolation to the oppressed and poor and ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, let her trials be ever so great no one would ever hear her complain or mummer at her lot.

During her last sickness which was 5 days of the most intense suffering. She did not seem to realize that death was so near at hand until to for gone to talk to those who witnessed the last of life. She seemed to know all that was said to her, but could not say anything herself. A few minuts before she died she looked up and smiled twice, as if to say,

Fare-well vain world with all its store,
I am going home too died no more.

It seemed as if we could hear the master say,

Open the Pearley gates and let this
Redeemed Soul come in.

It would seem looking from a human stand point that it was unjust to see her taken from a large family of little ones, but we feel that, God know best, and can say that he doeth all things well.

She leaves a husband and seven small children. The oldest being 12 years, and the youngest 5 days old. Besides 3 boys of the former wife, which she raised from childhood.

Five brothers and two sisters and a large number of friends and acquaintances are left to mourn her loss. For those who knew her loved her.

Filing to secure her pastor or minister of her choice up to the time of the funeral, Rev. Holmes the Methodist pastor took charge of the funeral. Text, Rev. 14-13, after which we followed to the last resting place, there to wait till we are all called to arise and meet to part no more.

Robert Dunsworth of Burrton, a brother of the bereaved husband has taken the infant child to raise.
