BETTENDORF -- Services for Mabel B. Cox, of Bettendorf, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cox died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. Mabel Watson was born Nov. 20, 1909, to John Elias and Lillie Belle (Lauderbaugh) Watson in Putnam County, Mo. She married Albert A. Cox on March 18, 1928, in Princeton, Mo. He died in 1983. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church, Davenport. Mabel enjoyed family gatherings when her love for her grandchildren was especially evident. She also enjoyed flowers, sewing, crocheting, quilting, embroidery and cooking. Memorials may be made to Grandview Baptist Church or a favorite charity. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, RoseMary and Russell Doose, Lincoln City, Ore., and Jolene and Jim Dinsmore, Mankato, Minn.; sons and a daughter-in-law, Sherril Cox, Princeton, Mo., and Wendell and Nancy Cox, Davenport; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren.
