Ada was the daughter of Mathias Willhoite (born in Tennessee) and Myra Trevillion Willhoite (born in Arkansas). She married William Evans Weaver in 1894 and had four daughters and one son. Her children's names were Mamie Rea, born in 1895, Evans Eugene, born in 1896, Hettie Mae, born in 1898, Eula V., born in 1900 and Willie Edna Weaver, born in 1902.

After William's death from a poisonous spider bite, she married Ben Nelson and they had one son, Lorin Weaver Nelson, born in 1905. Ada ran a farm with a large orchard, a grape vineyard and always a vegetable garden.

She was a lifelong gardener, up into her nineties. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ.
