James Almond Watkins

James Almond Watkins, 85, of Granite Shoals died April 16. Born Jan. 14,
1925 in Gilmer, James was the son of William and Huleit Lee (Davidson)
Watkins. James served in the U.S. Marines as a fighter pilot and was part of
the Black Sheep Squadron in World War II. He was an engineer for a steel
company. Survivors include his wife Milly Watkins of Granite Shoals; son and
daughter-in-law, Ed and Carol Kinsey of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Frances
Webster of Kirbyville, Texas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and
close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Spencer
Watkins; and siblings, Claudie Glasco Watkins; Avis Johnson Watkins, Bert
Watkins, Ila Mae Webster, Alliene Sherman, Theo Watkins, and Jean Sublett.
Visitation will be Friday, April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox
Funeral Home, Marble Falls. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 24
at 3 p.m. at Buchanan West Baptist Church with John Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made
to Buchanan West Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of
Clements-Wilcox of Marble Falls and condolences may be offered at
