John Ezra Logan

John Ezra Logan, son of Charity Ann (Neill) and William N Logan was born July 7, 1876 in Wayne county near Lineville, Iowa and passed away at Susan's Rest home in Trenton, Mo., Dec. 19, 1952 at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 12 days.

He was converted and joined the church at an early age. He always devoted his life to the work of the church and of the community. He was Sunday school superintendent for a number of years.

He came to Lineville in 1900 and was engaged in the grocery business for a few years. He moved to Corydon where he worked in a grocery store for four years. He then moved to a farm near Lineville until his death.

On November 8, 1903 he was united in marriage to Tessie Porter. To this union was born 2 children; Mrs. Evelyn Evans of Des Moines, Iowa and Porter Neal of Cercer, Mo. He is survived by his two children, 5 grandchildren, one brother, Tony of Lineville and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Perkins of Denver, Colo.

He sang in a quartette and helped in many funerals.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Lineville. Rev. Roy Donelson in charge, assisted by Rev. Barrett. Burial at Evergreen cemetery.
