SWEETWATER -- Wayland E. Kirkpatrick, 85, lifelong local resident, died Monday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Zoe Renfro officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was born in Sweetwater and retired from Railway Express. He was a member of First Christian Church and was the widower of Willie B. Latham Kirkpatrick, whom he married in 1936 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Gail Lamm of Richardson; one son, Billy Gene Kirkpatrick of Freeburg, Ill.; one brother, Bernard Kirkpatrick of Corsicana; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
