POTTSBORO - Peggy D. Harris, 80-year-old Pottsboro resident, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 at the Homestead of Denison. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Bobby Hancock officiating. Mrs. Harris was born on Jan. 22, 1928 in Autaugaville, AL., daughter of Dewey and Flora Melton McDonald and attended school in Prattville, Al. She married Charles E. Harris on Dec. 9, 1944 in Prattville, AL and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1994. Mrs. Harris was a housewife and a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Matthew Passanisi, Devon Young, Bobby Russell, Stephen Hix, Bobby Wilson and Gary Capshaw. Surviving are her son, Charles R. Harris and wife Jackie of Denison; daughters, Peggy Diane Cassell and husband Phillip of Pottsboro, Patricia Broom and husband Lonnie of Sand Springs, OK. and Shirley Hix and her ex-husband, Ricky of Sherman; brother, Raney McDonald of Elmore, AL; sisters, Carolyn James of Eclectic, AL, Joyce McRimmon of Tallassee, AL and Faye Tucker of Eclectic, AL; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brothers, Charles and Earl McDonald; and sisters, Bonnie Wingard, Olla Mae Hale and Ruth Watkins. The family suggests memorials to Georgetown Baptist Church Building Fund. Family visitation will be from 7 -8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel .
