Henry Earl Coe was born in Cuyahoga Co. Ohio, Sept. 24 1853. In 1858 he moved with his parents to Waterloo Indiana. He attended the public schools there and attended Oberlin Collage. He went on to be a teacher in Auburn Indiana, eventually becoming Superintendent of the schools in DeKalb Co.
He met and married Harriet (Hattie) Ann Reed on 25 Dec 1899. They resided for some 25 years in Dekalb Co which they are buried. He was buried on the 6th of June 1926
