Funeral Services for Doris Anderson have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, January 10, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Pastor Larry Varvel will officiate. Burial will be at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. Doris Anderson was born October 25, 1922 in Fort Smith, Arkansas the daughter of Charles Henry and Abby (Nash) Schleiff. Doris died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was 88 years of age. The former Miss Doris Schleiff was a 1940 graduate of Fort Smith, Arkansas High School where she named Class Valedictorian. She attended one year at Fort Smith Junior College. She married O.T. (Andy) Anderson, 69 years ago on January 23, 1942 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They moved to Broken Arrow from Fort Smith in 1950. Doris was a homemaker. She was an Amateur Radio Operator and had received her 20-year pin as a Tulsa Zoo Docent. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the R.V. Club. She was in the Church Choir for over 60 years, a member of the Card Ministry and the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church where she was a member for 61 years. She is survived by her husband, O. T. "Andy" Anderson, daughters, Shirley and husband Jim Cousens and Sharon and husband David Willhite; son, Don and wife Neoka Anderson; granddaughters, Cheryl Anderson, Kerrie Bryan, Tracey Hayes, Lori Norton, Cindy Watchorn and Cathy Crabtree; grandson, Darin Cousens; 22 great grandchildren; sister, Frances and husband Dick Ison; brother, Gerald and wife Barbara Schleiff; sister in law, Barbara Dunham; brother in law, Verlin Kindy. She was preceded in death by, her parents, sisters, Evelyn Wilson, Eleanor Hill, Katherine Kindy and brother, Wendell Schleiff. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow. Interment will be at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
