March 15, 1923 - July 22, 2006

Ted G. Carter, 83, of Tanglewood Trace, Mishawaka, passed away following an illness at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, July 22, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

He was born March 15, 1923, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Floyd and Lucy (Lucas) Carter, who both preceded him in death. He was a postal employee for the Mishawaka Post Office. Mr. Carter was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army with the 8th infantry regiment in Northern France and also in Normandy.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, Tara (John) Torma of Elkhart, Darlene (Jack) Mure of Mishawaka, Carolyn Johnson of Lebanon, Ohio, Judy Dunn of South Bend, Linda (Tom) Anderson of Laguna Nigal, California, Vivian (Martin) Lanko of West Vancouver, British Colombia, and James (Mary Jo) Carter of Osceola.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, John Carter, Floyd J. Carter, Truman Carter and Thomas Carter. Two sisters also preceded him in death, Maxine Jones and Beverly Lanko.

Funeral services for Mr. Carter will be held at noon Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, with friends being received for two hours prior to the services on Wednesday. Burial will follow the services at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana.
