Jerry was proud to have served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam Conflict. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in January 1970, and became a door gunner and mechanic on the Huey helicopters in Vietnam. His classification was, Marine Corpsman, A/C engineering mechanic, primary specialty title "helo tower plant mechanic." He was awarded, National Defense ribbon, Rifle Marksman, Vietnam service medal W/2. He left the Marine Corps, serving honorably, as an E-4 corporal in 1974. As a civilian, he was a retiree of Ryder Truck Rental after 30 years of dedicated service. Jerry was the beloved husband of Ellen for 32 years. Loving and devoted father of Lou (Niki). Dear brother of Mary Jo (John) Pauley, Bob (Penny) Abbott and Cathi (John) Galomski. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jerry was laid to rest on October 13, with the Patriot Guard Riders Organization there, along with Jerry's family, to recongnize Jerry's proud service to his country.
