Last of eight children born to John Thomas Blank b. November 10, 1878 and Matilda Charlotte Kleen b. January 15, 1880.

Paternal grandparents: Thomas T. Blank b. September 6, 1850 and Rachel J. Dierks b. June 3, 1850.

Maternal grandparents: Harm G. Kleen b. March 21, 1853 and Anna Marie Griebel b. January 8, 1841.

Married Vera Fern Lipp on July 24, 1938 in Macon, Franklin County, Nebraska. At the time of Clarence's death they had been married for 72 years. Children of the union include Shirley Ann, Barbara Elaine, Clarence LeRoy, and Denis Neil.

Attended District 67 through the 8th Grade and graduated from Franklin High School, Franklin County, NE.

Served in the U.S. Army with the Occupational Forces in Japan following World War II.

Was a member of the United Methodist Church, the VFW and the American Legion.

Expressed his love of music by singing in the church choir and at many weddings and funerals over the years.

Was a job foreman and construction superintendent during much of his working life retiring in 1985 as a superintendent of construction for the Good Samaritan Society.
