Harold "Whitey" McDonald,
Winterset
Funeral services for Harold "Whitey" McDonald, 68, were held Sat., Dec. 22 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. McDonald died December 18 at Madison County Memorial Hospital, Winterset.
A lifetime Winterset resident, Harold Wallace McDonald was born February 26, 1922 to William Wallace and Gladys (Clark) McDonald. He married Martha C. Overturf, August 28, 1945 in Camp Hood, Tex. He was a retired truck driver, having been employed by Farmer Co-op for 32 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge no. 43 of Winterset and an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers.
Surviving relatives include a son, Tom McDonald of Winterset, a daughter, Terre Holliday of Winterset, brothers, Wayne McDonald, Scott Victor McDonald, Paul McDonald and James McDonald all of Winterset, sisters, Zola Haigh of Des Moines and Barbara Corkrean of Winterset; and six grandchildren.
Burial was at McDonald-Chase Cemetery in Madison County.
