MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — Virginia C. "Ginny" (Dodsworth) Tasso, 51, of Middletown, died on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Newport Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of Michael C. Tasso Jr.
Born in Waltham, Mass., on Feb. 16, 1958, she was the daughter of the late David Dodsworth of Harwich, and Crosby and Kirke Higgins of Chatham.
Ginny attended Washington College in Maryland. She was an animal lover, an avid reader, and enjoyed summers on the beach and spending time on Cape Cod. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend, and truly touched the lives of so many.
Besides her husband of 22 years, she is survived by her daughters, Alexandra A. Tasso of Middletown, and Jessica Cardillo Douglas and her husband Jason of Riverside; brothers, David Dodsworth and his wife Beverly, and Freeman Dodsworth and his wife Ellen; a sister-in-law, Madeline Snapp and her husband Dwight; brothers-in-law, Charlie Tasso and his wife Lorraine, Arthur Tasso and his wife Lavenia, and James Tasso and his wife Janice; former husband, Jim Cardillo and his wife Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, in St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 625 Main St., Chatham, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 23, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St., Newport.
