GRIFFIN F. BARTON
Griffin F. Barton, age 48, died in Mobile Monday, January 19, after an illness of a week.
He is survived by his wife, Exer Barton, of Mobile; three sons, Nathan Barton, Columbus, Ga.; Howard Barton, U.S. Army; and Carl Barton, Mobile; two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Terry and Mrs. Margaret Fountain, of Columbus, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bethany Church at Heath, with Rev. G.H. Shears officiating, assisted by Rev. Davis. Music was furnished by the church choir. Pallbearers were Ray, Fletcher, Gene Barton, Guy and David Tadlock and Jack Kelley. Flower girls were Lettie Sheld, Doris and Rebecca Barton, Mrs. Gantt, Jr., Mrs. Kathleen Plant and Nan Fletcher.
Interment was in the church cemetery with Benson Funeral Home in charge.
