Ruth Upshaw Duffy

Ruth Upshaw Duffy, 95, of Knoxville, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010.

She was a 1937 graduate of East Tennessee State Teachers College and was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Duffy.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Suzanne Duffy of Lubbock, Texas, Elizabeth and Kenneth Borslien of Portland, Ore., and Ruthie and Howard Johnson of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Laurel Jenkins and her husband, Brad, and Megan, Drew and Neil Johnson; one great-grandchild, Landon Jenkins; and one sister, Bertha Dean Baker of Etowah.

The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Graystone Presbyterian Church with services following at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Hitchens officiating. Burial followed in Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Highland Memorial Funeral Home of Knoxville was in charge of arrangements.
