J. Y. HART DIED IN HOSPITAL HERE

J. Y. Hart, 80 year old resident of Bogard, died at Carroll County Memorial Hospital Thursday morning. He was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening from the Lancaster Rest Hom where he had lived since July of this year.

Joseph Yuen Hart was born May 19, 1890, in Carroll County, the son of Benjamin and Amanda Austin Hart. He attended the Austin school west of Carrollton and lived in the area west of Bogard. He farmed most of his life but also operated a service station at Bogard for 16 years prior to his retirement.

On September 25, 1912, he married Minnie Mae Mattox, who passed away October 28, 1951. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Mr. Hart is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Luverna) Birch, of Bogard and a son, Elmer Hart of Holton, Kansas. Three grandsons also survive.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Hart will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Dickerson-Rice Funeral Home in Bogard. The Rev. Cecil Hart, of Malta Bend will conduct the services assisted by the Rev. Phil Neimeyer. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday evening at the Dickerson-Rice Chapel.
