Married Mar 17, 1889 at her parents home in Longton, KS to Ephraim Riley Benefiel.
In Apr 1897, the family moved to Payne Co. Ok Terr. on a farm 4 miles north of Stillwater. In 1899 they moved into town and Eph was in the Merchant Business. They attended the Methodist Church, Eph was active in civil affairs, served as the mayor and was on the school board. After leaving Stillwater, he taught school in Cherryvale, KS for a short time. On Jan 1, 1905, Eph entered the postal service, he devliered mail by a vehicle which was pulled by the family's white horse for many years. In 1910 they build a 5 room house with a bath on Myrtle Street where they lived the rest of their lives.
