Tennie Davis Duncan, daughter of Franklin and Pharaba Davis, was born near Tarkio, Mo., June 5, 1883 and passed away very suddenly at the Wayne County Hospital April 7, 1965 after suffering her second heart attack at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 2 days.

She attended and graduated from Tarkio College in Tarkio, Mo., in 1905. She united with the United Presbyterian church in Tarkio at an early age and was an active member there and later joined with the United Presbyterian church of Allerton where she was a very active and faithful member as long as her health permitted her to do so. Her heart condition was first discovered in 1960. This caused her to give up many of her activities in church work and community affairs.

On May 19, 1910 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Duncan and to this union two sons were born, Carl of Allerton and James of San Francisco, Calif.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and two sons, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and two sisters, Maude Davis of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. Ester Jenison of Tarkio, Mo., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Randolph Funeral home in Allerton Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Miss Bonnie Rateike officiating. Mrs. Harold Snodgrass, Miss Carolyn Harberts, Mrs. Milo Bettis and Mrs. Arthur Swanson sang favorite hymns and were accompanied by Mrs. D. M. Crawford at the piano. Pallbearers were Harold Snodgrass, Don Duncan, Kennedy Fennell, Milo Bettis, Mervin Halfhill and Arthur Swanson. Burial was in the Allerton cemetery.
