Samuel Hare found dead in bed Sunday.
Funeral services for Samuel Hare, who was found dead in bed Sunday, August 2 were held yesterday morning at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home. Mr. Hare had been in failing health for the past eight years and coronary occlusion was listed as the cause of death. The Rev. Frank W. Sprague was in charge of the services and burial was in Grandview Cemetery.
The deceased was born February 14, 1888 in Neodesha and was 65 years, five months and eighteen days of age at the time of his death. He was married August 6, 1908 in Fredonia to Miss Anna Yahne who survives him. He had lived his entire life span in Kansas and had farmed all of his life.
He was the son of John Hare, born in Baltimore, MD and Margaret Snavely Hare, born in Virginia. Both preceded him in death. He attended the Christian Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Roy Hare, rural Cherryvale and a daughter, Mrs. W. E. Hixon, Wichita; five grandchildren, Donald Hixon, Wichita and Shirley Ann, Melvin, James and Samuel Loren Hare of Cherryvale; seven brothers, William Hare, Bartlesville, OK; Henry Hare, Elk City; Jacob Hare, Jenkins, MO; Thomas, Frank and James Hare all of Neodesha and Fred Hare, Altoona.
Two sons, Walter and Loren Samuel and a 1/2 brother, Dock Willard and a Sister, Mary Clanton, preceded him in death. (Nov. 1953).
