Abigail Turner was the ninth of ten daughters of Ezekiel Turner and Susanna Keeney. She was born in New London March 14, 1703. Two years after she was born, her father died. Her mother re-married in New London, August 20 1706. Abigail's step-father was Joseph Miner, a great uncle of the Clement Miner that Abigail later married. She married Clement Miner in New London in the First Congregational Church on January 9, 1721/22. Abigail and Clement had ten children. Lucy, Lydia, Abigail, Jonathan, twins Ebenezer and Edward, Martha, and Clement were all born in New London. The last two children, Daniel and William were born in Norwich. Abigail died in Norwich September 23, 1756, and is probably buried there, but no burial record has been located.

Abigail's great-great grandfather was William Brewster of Nottinghamshire, England. William and his wife, Mary ?, sailed on the Mayflower in 1620 for Plymouth, Ma. Deeply religious, and well educated, William was known as Elder Brewster. Both he and Mary managed to survive that terrible first winter in which half of the Pilgrims [or Separatists] died, and they were both in attendance at what we now call the first Thanksgiving.
