Wm. Carey an old and respected citizen died at the home of his son, Al Carey,
Friday night, June 30, aged about 83 years.
He was born in Monroe County, Tenn. He married Miss Sarah Marley, who with him and the children came to Clay county in 1852, and in 1878 they moved to Johnson county where he spent the remainder of his life. He leaves 3 daughters and four sons and many relatives and friends to mourn his death. His wife and two sons preceeded him into the world beyond. The sympathy of friends and neighbors is extended to the bereaved ones.
The funeral was held at the residence of A. Carey, conducted by Rev. Thos. L.
Powell, Sunday morning at 10 o'clock.
