OBITUARY OF HARVEY MONTGOMERY LOVETT

Harvey Montgomery LOVETT was born at Lineville, Wayne County, Iowa on July 18, 1845 and at the time of his death in this city on November 06, 1924, was over 79 years of age. The deceased was the first while male child born in Wayne County, Iowa. Mr. LOVETT made his home in this city with his daughter, Mrs. J. N. SCHOLLENBARGER, moving to this city from his farm near Gray in Beaver County.

On July 21, 1877, he was united in marriage to Miss Essa HARRIS, who preceded him to the great beyond a number of years ago. To this union was born seven children, five of whom are living. They are Joseph LOVETT of, Washington, D. C., Miss Elizabeth of Chicago, Illinois, Jno. H. LOVETT, Mrs. J. N. SCHOLLENBARGER and Mrs. M. R. TODD, all of this city. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister: T. J. and D. G. LOVETT and Mrs. S. E. SAYLORS, all of Lineville, Iowa.

Mr. LOVETT was a college graduate and at one time was actively engaged in the mercantile business, opening a string of five stores. Later he was in the hog business. He left Iowa with his family in 1900, moving to Beaver County where he homesteaded and lived until he moved to this city four years ago. He was a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellow fraternities.

The remains were laid to rest at the Ochiltree Cemetery on Thursday afternoon of last week, Rev. W. C. Bryan of Gray having charge of the Services. Mr. LOVETT had always been a just and upright man, ever a real neighbor and friend to his fellow man. He had lived a long and useful life. The Herald expresses their heartfelt sympathy in this sad hour.
