Marilyn's sister and best friend was Lucille Shaud.
Marilyn went to the Mercy School of Nursing and became a registered nurse in 1948. She had many fond memories of working with Dr. Charles Donatelli in his private practice until his retirement. His patients would describe her as a warm and friendly person. Even though she found nursing fulfilling, she pointed out to those closest to her that all she really wanted to be was a mother. Most recently she exemplified this by referring to her children as her lifeline.
Throughout her life Marilyn was quick to see the good in those she knew. She enjoyed sharing her thoughts with others and chatting with anyone she encountered. Communicating shared experiences was one of the ways Marilyn was able to show she cared. She felt sharing your troubled heart or allowing another to unburden themselves was a true, loving way to assist each other. Marilyn was inspired by the written word and found comfort in spiritual teachings. Her faith was important to her and she was a long time member of Unity of Toledo Church.
