He was born in South Norfolk Va, Mr. Hoyt was a retired welder and a memeber of Agape Church, Chesapeak.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Faye Hoyt;a daughter, Nancy Faye Farr of Chesapeak, two sons, John R. Hoyt Jr. of Chesapeak, and Donald Ray Hoyt of Norfolk; four grandsons.
A Graveside service will be held at 1 pm. Friday at Chesapeak Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jasper Taylor with burial in Chesapeak Memorial Gardens. There will no viewing or visitation. Graham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
