Her obituary, dated Feb 22, 1978 from an unidentified Hawaiian newspaper, reads:

Laura Andersen is Dead at 83

Mrs. Laura J. "Dot" Andersen, 83, a former Hawaii resident, died Feb 4 in San Francisco.
The ashes will be scattered at sea at a later date.
Mrs. Andersen was orphaned as a young child and raised in a San Francisco orphanage. She was a survivor of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
In 1909, she sailed to Maui to live with relatives, Mr. and Mrs. George Trimble, owners and operators of the Wailuku Hotel. In 1914, she married the late Andrew Andersen, an employee of the Lufkin Bank on Maui which later became a branch of the Bank of Hawaii.
Mr. and Mrs. Andersen moved to Honolulu in 1916, then to Waialua, where Mr. Andersen established the Waialua branch of the Bank of Hawaii. He died in 1946.
She moved to San Francisco in 1951 and made frequent visits to Hawaii.
Her activities included 275,000 miles of travel by ship on the oceans of the world. This earned her the title of "Grand Admiral," given her by Matson Navigation Co. and Pacific Far East Lines.
Mrs. Andersen is survived by a son, Andrew Jr. of Haleiwa; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
