Adelaide was the daughter of John Clement Strickland and Henrietta Mary (Anderson) Strickland. She was the first of five siblings.

In 1932 she married William Thomas Logan in Buffalo, New York, and the couple were blessed with six children.

In 1951 the family moved to Williamsburg, Virginia where they lived until 1960, when the couple and their two younger children moved to Tampa, Florida.

With the death of her spouse in 1972, Adelaide joined her youngster daughter, Patricia Strickland, her husband Army CWO Tony F. Held and their five children in Heilbronn, Germany where at the time the family was stationed. Upon his military retirement, the family moved to Texas where she lived with them in Lubbock, Midland and Abilene.

She was preceded in death by her parents; William her husband of 40 years; her infant daughter Margaret Mary Logan (Dec 1933 – Jan 1934); and three brothers John, Gordon and John Jr.

She was survived by four daughters, Adelaide Agnes Logan Hough, of Tampa, Florida; Kathleen Frances Logan Mutsch of Defuniak Springs, Florida; Barbara Ann Logan Thomas of Williamsburg, Virginia; and Patricia Strickland Logan Held of Abilene, Texas; one son William Francis Logan of Tampa, Florida; a brother Roland P. Strickland of Canada; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Reverend Father Alvin Wilde at Sacred Hearth Catholic Church, Abilene, Texas.
The remains were subsequently transported to Tampa, Florida where she was laid to rest with her husband.
