Stanley W. Austin, 86, of Mellott, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Waters of Covington. He had been in ill health for a year.
He was born March 4, 1924 near Crawfordsville to the late Jacob and Agnes Williams Austin. He married Susie Johnson on Aug. 8, 1942, in Lafayette. She survives.
Surviving with his wife are four children, Marge Bowman (husband: Mike) of Crawfordsville, Marvin "Bub" Austin (wife: Marianne) and Gary Austin (wife: Vickie), both of Mellott, and Jerry Austin (wife: Julie) of Dolton, Il.; a brother, Chester "Pete" Austin (wife: Thelma) of Covington; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and 6 brothers.
