Billie M. Vest, 62, of Corbettsville, [PA] died Saturday, April 25, 1992 at Hershey Medical Center following a long illness. He was predeceased by his father, Carl Thomas Vest. He is survived by his loving wife, Mardelle; his mother and her husband, Lorene and Calvin Bredbenner; five children, Larry and Debbie Vest, Johnson City, Sandra Vest, Johnson City, Rebecca and Joel Rockoff, Johnson City, Jennifer Vest, Buffalo, and Leslie Vest, New Paltz; eight grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Wes Cook, Roanoke, Va. He was a member, ruling Elder, and church historian for the Conklin Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of SUNY Oswego and Western Michigan University. He was a school administrator, supervisor, and Director of Vocational Education for the Binghamton City School District. He dedicated his life to teaching and education. He also enjoyed and spent much time with his hobby of clockmaking and repair.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Conklin Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Conklin Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Monday from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home Inc., 137 Robinson St., Binghamton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Billie Maurice Vest Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
