Fred Hoefer Dead. Officers called to investigate the case. Died on the buggy on his way to Inman -- Inman Excited. Fred Hoefer of Little Valley was found on the road at 8:30 o'clock this morning. The circumstances of his death are peculiar and the officers were called to investigate. When found, he was sitting in the buggy, having dropped back in the seat. The lines were in his hands. The horses were standing by the roadside eating grass. No wounds were found on his body and it is possible that hemay have had a stroke of paralysis. He was found one mile away from his home. Inman and the entire community became excited as the circumstances of his death appear peculiar. The officers including the county attorney, the county corner, nd the sheriff were called and this afternoon were holding an inquest. Dr. Sprouse of Inman was among those at the trial and he will be called on to testify. No one has been suspicioned but the sudden death, without any previous complaint, brought on the call for the officers. There are a number of children in the family, which is composed of six children of his own and a number of step children. D.F Ensz' girls were on their way home from Inman and notified the unusual scene and told a neighbor's harvest crew. Mr. Hoefer had been feeling badly for a few days and made up this mind to go to the doctor. He left home about 9:15 but had gone only a half mile before he died. Dr. Sprouse was sent for and later a corner's inquest was held. The corner's jury completed their investigation about 8:30. They decided that the death was caused by natural cause. The corners jury was composed of Chas Achilles, F.A. Poe, J.M Van Nordstrand, Aron M. Regher, W. A. B. Knackstedt and John Schlater.
