Mr. Pedersen was in the grocery business in Emporia for 40 years.
He was born Sept. 3, 1919, in Lyon County, the son of Martin Pedersen and Anna Christina Wessel. He was a lifelong Emporia resident.
Mr. Pedersen was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eagles Aerie in Emporia.
He married Violet Marie Kohlman on Aug. 7, 1963, in Miami, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Martin Pedersen, Wichita; two stepsons, Cecil McClure, Winston-Salem, N.C., and Ronnie McClure, Buhler; two sisters, Arlene Jacob, Emporia, and Helen Pace, Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat- grandchild.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Charter Funerals Carlson Funeral Home in Emporia. Burial with Masonic graveside services by the Masonic Lodge will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
