Deceased Name: Clarence Benjamin Chaffer (Bud) Abbott

ABBOTT Clarence Benjamin Chaffer (Bud) Abbott, devout & faithful servant of God, passed away Friday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 73. A native of Oneonta, NY, he was a heavy equipment (crane) operator with Ohio Operating Engineers local 18 for over 30 years. He was a WWII Marine veteran, a member of the Delaware Church of The Nazarene for over 20 years and was a Delaware resident for the past 30 years. Devoted husband to Mary Alice Abbott and devoted father to Linda Comerford, Janice Black, Gregory Styers, Lorri Styers, Tammera Kelly and Todd Styers. Also survived by sisters Leona Loucks and Emma Jackson; 22 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Ada Marie Abbott. Visitation will be at the BENNETT BROWN RODMAN FUNERAL HOME in Delaware on Monday (7-13-98) 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. Funeral services will be held in the Delaware Grace Brethern Church at 1:00 PM on Tuesday (7-14-98) with the former Church of The Nazarene minister, Harold Holmes & the current pastor of the Church of The Nazarene, Kevin Seymour officiating. Interment to follow in Fairview Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Nazarene Building Fund, 3335 Liberty Rd., Delaware, Ohio 43015.

Missing from the above obituary is Becky Martin. Becky was the daughter of Mary Abbott and very close to Bud.
