Services celebrating her life are 11 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 31) at Templeton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dean Beals officiating. Burial is in Edgar Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stafford was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Christian County, the daughter of the late Joseph Virgil Lynn and Ellice Skaggs Lynn. She married Paul Joseph Stafford on Dec. 18, 1943, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2003.
She is survived by one son, David (Susan) Stafford of Paris; three daughters, Elizabeth "Libby" (Gene) Foster of Paris, Marjory (John) Tunnell of Oswego, and Sharon (Rev. Dean) Beals of Salem; one brother, Joseph (Mary) Lynn Jr. of Stonington; one sister, Ruth Ellice (Lloyd) Smith of Taylorville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stafford graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelors degree and masters degree. She was a member of the Monday club and of Clay's Prairie United Methodist Church where she was active as the church pianist and as a Bible study leader. She took an active interest in the Edgar County Historical Society, the Edgar County Geneological Society and the Paris Art Center.
Memorials donations may be made to Clay's Prairie United Methodist Church.
