Lois M. Alexander Clark, 93, formerly of Edinburg and McAllen, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Carestone Assisted Living, Austin.

She was born on September 15, 1916 in E. St. Louis, Illinois. Mrs. Clark taught second grade in the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District during the period from 1960 to 1979. Her husband, Dr. Clark, was a professor at Pan American College (which later became The University of Texas Pan American) from 1960 until his retirement in 1977. Mrs. Clark was a resident of Heritage Village Retirement Community in McAllen from 1993 until her transfer to Carestone Austin Assisted Living in September 2009.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Theodore (Ted) R. Clark, in 1999. Mrs. Clark was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, grand aunt, great-grandmother, great-grand aunt, and friend, and considered all of these roles to be her great callings. Survived by her daughter Sue, son Charles T., and son Clarence W. Also survived by ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
